The Hyundai Tucson is known as the modern adventure SUV. Whether it’s a weekend getaway or a carpool drive around the city, it can help you make the most of every mile. As you journey through life, the Tucson can help get you there. One of the perks of the stylish and contemporary SUV is that it gives you plenty of cargo space.

You’ve purchased a new Hyundai Tucson and now you’re ready to accessorize it. While the cargo area supplies you with 80.3 cu.ft. when the rear seats are folded down, you also have the option of attaching a roof rack for even more cargo-carrying room.

Roof Rack Tips

Having a roof rack allows oversized items like a bike or kayak to go up on the roof while leaving more room inside for passengers to have a comfortable ride. But keep in mind that there are limits as to how much you can pile on the top of your Tucson. The crossbars have a weight limit of 165 pounds. You want to make sure that you do not exceed this weight or the total weight that the SUV can safely carry.

When loading up the roof rack, evenly distribute the load. Check the height of the load to make sure that you can drive in tunnels or in parking structures.

Always use the crossbars. Do not place items directly on the roof.

Be sure to check the tie-downs throughout your trip.

You may need to take the foot off the gas a bit while driving, especially on turns. Allow extra stopping time.
